Two people are injured and one person is killed after an accident Saturday night in Miller County.
The incident happened at just after 8 o'clock on Missouri 87, 2.5 miles north of Business 54.
Twenty-eight-year old Joseph Wine of Olean was driving his 1986 Chevy S-10 south Missouri 87 when he reached for something in the vehicle. His S-10 crossed the centerline and hit a 1996 Chevy Cavalier, driven by 17-year-old Nikole Borton of California, Missouri, head on.
Both vehicles came to rest and the S-10 caught fire. A passerby pulled Wine from the truck. He was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries. Nikole Borton and her passenger 21-year-old Sara Borton, were also flown to University Hospital. Nikole was pronounced dead in Columbia at just past ten o'clock. Sara was seriously injured. |
