Morgan County Teen Released After Shotgun Incident PDF Print E-mail

A Morgan County man is free on bond after a shooting incident on Sunday.

Early in the morning the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office was called to a vehicle accident in the area of Golden Beach Road in Barnett.  When deputies arrived they found a green Jeep Grand Cherokee overturned in a ditch with one moderately injured female juvenile.

Apparently the occupants of the Jeep had been at a nearby party when 18-year-old Andrew Glenn of Versailles brandished a .410 shotgun.  People left the party and jumped into the Jeep, leaving the home with Glenn following. Morgan County says that Glenn fired several shots at the Jeep from his own vehicle, causing the Jeep to run off the road.

The 18-year-old Versailles teenager was taken into custody shortly after the incident by the Versailles Police.  He was charged with one count of assault in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon.  He posted bond and was released. The shotgun was retrieved from the home later under a search warrant.
