A waste water facility and its owner will go before the Missouri Attorney General for violations of Missouri's Clean Water Law.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says Lake Landscaping and Construction's waste water treatment facility in Sunrise Beach, which is owned by James Robinson, was in complete disrepair.

The MoDNR inspected the Lake Landscaping and Construction facility on October 15th and 19th as part of the inspection sweep ordered by Governor Jay Nixon. MoDNR staff says several problems were found, including the sand filter covered in dense vegetation, no chlorine tablets in the applicator tube for treatment of effluent, and a control panel not connected to a power supply.

MoDNR staff told Robinson to immediately cease operation and in the meantime, pump and haul all of the effluent to a facility that had capacity to treat the discharge.  The Missouri Department of Natural Resources also says Robinson failed to submit discharge monitoring reports.

Lake Landscaping and Construction is the fourth facility referred after the sweep by the MoDNR ordered by the governor.  Van's Mill Creek in Gravois Mills, Bluff Point Estates in Lake Ozark, and Niangua Vista condos have already been referred due to violations of the Missouri's Clean Water Law.
