City Administrator Brenda Colter informed her board last night that the city recently had an opportunity to discuss possible changes with MoDOT. The first possible change is their Pier 31 Road sign, which could have the Camdenton city name added to it. Another area is the 54 and new Highway 5 interchange. "We've voiced concerns that we needed more signage at the 54 exit," Colter said. "That's a long ramp plus another decision you have to make to go under and come around and we thought we needed some clarification. We've got businesses both ways when you come to that exit." Colter says the other area discussed was the south access to the new highway. "And also when you get to the south end it's going to be even more important once they open up the rest of the highway, that you know you can turn off there too and go back to Camdenton. And that our airport is to the left because people won't be going by the airport." The city has asked for specific signage for the airport. Businesses have also asked to have logos placed on food and lodging signs. MoDOT is taking all matters raised into consideration.
