With only a couple of days left the city of Lake Ozark is on its way to having a sewer overflow free-October.

Matt Michalik, the city public works director, informed the board this week that the last two spills that happened in the city were all the way back in September.

On September 25th an electric line went down near the grinder pump at 101 Hidden Acres Court. Power was out for about an hour and half.  When the power came back on a breaker at the disconnect near the grinder pump tripped and about three to five gallons of sewage was lost. The public works department reset the breaker.

Five days later on the 30th at the same grinder pump a start kit went bad and fifteen gallons of sewage were released.  The start kit was replaced and the spill was limed.

Michalik informed the board that both spills were reported to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
