Police are asking stores to use their employees work ethic to help stop shoplifting.
Osage Beach is seeing an increase in incidents of shoplifting that are not being reported to police. Sgt. Arlyne Page says the best thing to do is get authorities involved. “Even if they suspect that they may have shoplifters, they may not even be, but, if they’re acting in any way shape or form suspicious give us a call," Page said. There have been increased incidents of shoplifting at some of the higher dollar stores and at stores where the employees seem to be a little more overworked. “We don’t have too much trouble with stores like Dress Barn because they have awesome customer service,” Page said. “When you have stores that have a decreased customer service because of personnel cutbacks or complacency, those are the stores that get hit.” Any questions call the Osage Beach Police Department at 302-2010. |
