Lake Ozark P&Z Makes Two Moves PDF Print E-mail

Two pieces of ongoing business were before the Lake Ozark Planning and Zoning Commission last night (11/10).

The first was a request from the owner of A.B.C. Pest Control on Highway W. He would like to add a 42X60 building to his property and lease it long term to an automotive dent shop. A 20x30 building had already been approved for the land but with the new application new requirements were added. The owner asked for leniency on the new requirements, citing the fact that the paperwork, site plan and other architectural plans would run up to $8,000.

Ultimately the P&Z Commission voted to approve a special use permit for the land and voted down a measure to make the property owner fulfill all requirements.

Lake Ozark City Administrator Dave Van Dee says there are several options available.

"There are codes out there that allow for minor site plan amendments which would actually help reduce that cost," Van Dee said. "If you have an overall plan that's already been approved that addresses some of the issues that we are discussing, you can come back in and do a minor site plan amendment to add a new building. As long as you are not extending any of those other conditions, that's usually a process that's useable."

The specific requirements waived won't be decided until December's P&Z meeting.

Also last night a request for a helicopter landing pad on the strip was withdrawn by Lake Ozark Helicopters.
