A man who died in an explosion and fire one week ago today (12/8) just outside of Macks Creek has been identified.
The Camden County Sheriff’s Department says 33-year-old Jay P. Downing died in the garage at a home off of Mill Creek Road. Downing and his friend, 42-year-old John Liebrum, apparently tried to use a gas oil mixture to light a woodburning stove.
State Fire Marshal Randy Cole said on Friday that the fumes from the mixture filled the space and ignited causing the explosion and fire. |
